FIBER Festival, CTM Festival, in:resonance, 4DSOUND, Ambrio, SOL systems and Loods6 present Currents - Experiments & Performances in Spatial Sound

Futures of Listening comes to ADE with Currents, a four-day programme of experiments and performances in spatial sound, held at Loods6. Across three evenings of live and DJ sets, two days of workshops and demos, and a closing spatial sound meetup, artists work with changing sound system configurations to shape a new listening experience each night.

Three types of sound systems - 4DSOUND, in:resonance, and SOL Systems - gather to create different listening settings, from ambient and delicate soundscapes to dynamic DJ sets and live performances.

Expect a range of listening situations: sit, lie down and walk through the space while performances take place at various points along the long corridor. The goal is not to meditate on sound, but to explore new sonic and social settings in the unique acoustics of the concrete Bagagehall.

Located on the edge of the IJ, Loods6 is a monumental former passenger and freight terminal shaped by decades of things passing through: cargo unloaded from the ships, travellers crossing the hall on their way into the city, everything moving onward to somewhere else. Nowadays, Loods6 has grown into a unique collective creative building featuring studios, shops, and exhibition spaces.
